I finally got out and bought The World Ends With You. The entire game is a giant crack attack, but I love it. Shame I got stuck on the most idiotic part ever. Damn that business man guy that I need the meme from. DX I can't move the coin any slower. I'm unsure how I feel about them translating Shinigami as "The Reapers". The target audience would've probably been fine keeping it Shinigami, but then.. unless they looked at the kanji in the initial text they don't know anyways XD I guess "The Reapers" fits the theme of the game better than "Gods of Death" anyway.

Beat scares me a little. All I can think of is Seifer in KH2 ..;

I got a Pheonix Wright game (finally) from Gamestop for like 10 bucks used. The game is hilarious. You get to yell Objection at the microphone. XDD

Went to the movies with Elena and Steve today and saw Iron Man. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Disappointed that Stark became less of a douche though. :/ Oh well. At least he was still wearing a suit.

Went home and watched the new Hulk movie because I was bored and it has Ed Norton. I liked it, but the ending was really boring. Best part? Tony Stark cameo at the end. <3333 The SHIELD referances in both movies made me pleased too. I smell an Avengers movie~ Probably after Iron Man 2 and Thor though. I heard they're making a movie with Pim. LOLOLOL Pim = FAIL. I hated him in Avengers: The Initiative. He was a douche, but not in the swanky way Stark is.

Only real disappointment with both movies was that they followed the same basic plot as every other superhero movie. I want some more creativity.

Started reading Bleach again because I quit ages ago due to it being utter fail. As soon as the whole "LET'S RESCUE RUKIA GUYS LOLOL" arc started it became so boring and I just stopped reading it. Yeah, I said it! DX *prepares for the flames* So I'm up to the part where Ulquiorra shows up, and I'm still unimpressed. The thing that annoys me the most is that I LIKE the story, and I LOVE the characters.. it just take forever to get on with everything. If I wanted to deal with boring dialogue and pointless battles I'd watch DBZ. I'll try to get further, but I think I'm just gonna ditch it again.

Senior BBQ today. It rained so we ditched and went to Skiadas' house and made dumplings. Much better. Forgot to apprehend Mr. Harrison at Debate Club afterwards.

So prom weekend, Mom's birthday, and senior skip day were all nice. Prom was unexpectedly fun, as the DJ played Electronica, not just crappy rap! :D ♥ So I incited several friends into dancing properly to it, as is required. The rest of the prom-goers did not particularly appreciate this. Garrett even had glowsticks that I could jack, which was nice. I got to see a whole bunch of people I don't see much ever since second semester started, like Kenny and Astraea. So yeah, it was cool.

For senior skip day Stephanie, Elena, Liz, Shelly, and I all went to Vanderbuilt mansion for the day. Besides minor injury of the frisbee-hitting-my-face-in-a-painful-manner variety, it went nicely. Dan had a frisbee accident at Baird Park with Annette, Garret & co. and he had to get stitches, so I don't have much room to complain.

School's almost done, thank god. Like.. 8 days left? Including friday which is just Senior BBQ. Srsly, I want to skip everyday left. I have no desire to keep going to class, except finals.

This is aimed at teens (13 is the youngest age Tokyopop has published for so far) who they intend to take advantage of on so many levels that it's absurd. Even juvenile contracts laws won't be able to save your ass when it comes to this.

As awesome as it would be for anyone who is interested in publishing their OEL manga, this is the wrong way to go about it. If you know anyone who plans to enter this, please tell them to read the contract. You don't need a lawyer to tell you how full of bullshit it is.

Mom's back at home and doing fine. Medical procedures are being planned for, if possible, the early-middle of June. Mom's on some meds, but I believe they're just a precaution, as they think she may be subject to seizures. She's also been told she's not allowed to drive.

Started watching Nougami Neuro because Yuka mentioned it. Man, that shit is strange. It's kinda cheesey, especially at first, but it reminds me of a lot of older anime so I kept watching it. As it goes on, I ejoy it more and more. I swear, I'm not watching anything blatantly shounen so it's a reprieve from soppy and slow. XD

Got back from visiting Mom at the hospital again. Good news is that they know what's wrong with her. Bad news is that it's a brain tumor. Good news is that it's small and they're not sure that it's malign. Bad news is that she's going to have to stay in the hospital for awhile. However, we're gonna get it taken care of as soon as possible. She's gonna go down to the city and get surgery if necessary. So far she's doing pretty well, just being a horrible patient as nurses are wont to be.

All of a sudden mom stopped breathing and passed out. By the time Linda and I got inside, called 911 and got back out Mom was waking up. Aunt Sue and Dad had moved her onto the ground and were gonna start CPR. The paramedics came and now Mom's at the hospital with Aunt Sue and Dad. She should be okay, but they wanted to check and make sure nothing was wrong with her.

Finally went out and got a dress for prom. Mom was kinda mad because I waited til the last minute, as prom's the 30th and all, but I thought of it as successful. I got a dress and shoes for under 100 bucks for waiting as long as I did, and I actually like the stuff, so it worked out fine.

Mom won't let me dye my hair to match the dress though. :/ *sigh* It's ultramarine and everything... Luckily the shoes aren't hard to walk in (god bless those go-go boots, theyve trained me well) though the heels are thin so I worry that I'll tip over or something.

Eww, why is May so freaking cold this year? NEEDS MOAR GLOBAL WARMING. We haven't even opened the pool yet. :"< Not that I'd actually be using it, but whatever.

I think, for NYAF, I'm gonna cosplay as Tsuyukusa from Amatsuki. I wanted to do Bonten, but there's no way I can bind my chest and wear his clothes because of the cut of the back. Well, without it looking stupid, anyway. = =; Also, Tsuyukusa's hair is easier for me to dye and cut my own. Just have to figure out how to do Tsuyukusa's sleeves. Also, whether or not to do the crazy horns that he's got when the seal or whatever that Bonten gives him are off.

Signing up for tables ended badly because I waited too long.. and 4 random people that none of us know signed up to sit at our table. THEY STOLE ME SPOT XDDD Liz was so pissed, but I just signed up for the table next to it and will drag the chair over to sit with everyone. It's buffet style this year, so place settings don't mean anything.

Elena came over with her dress so mom can hem it for her because it's too long. Mrs. Kondor and mom got chatting and somehow mom's older sister was mentioned. It was really awkward... Usually she doesn't talk about it. But mom didn't seem fazed and even mentioned her death, so I guess she was okay with it. She even talked about having to get the house renovated because no one would go into the room she was shot in. Even though it was so long ago, Mom's so sensitive about it. I mean, understandably but.. it was just weird.

Okay, away from the depressing! Tomorrow starts memorial day weekend, so I get to sleep in. :D <3 I should stop being so antisocial and get together with people. Stephanie I haven't seen you in so long because I'm a horrible person. DX *clings* I will try to call you.

Oh yeah, got two new books. :D Terry Pratchett and this other thing that looked fun. So far it's not bad. Better than mediocre, but I'm still unsure about it. So this girl at school died yesterday in a car accident by my house. Turns out Sarah D. was friends with her, but had no idea. Someone told her around 4th period and the poor girl was a wreck for the rest of the day.

So it goes without saying today kinda sucked a lot, but there were good things too.

Fourth period was really nice though, another slacking/party day in APAH. There were donut holes, grapefruit, pineapple, kiwi, donut holes, coffee, and tea. I'm just going to bring in food next week. So wil Genevieve and Megan, I believe.

Sixth and seventh period we just played Uno with Garrett's newly purchased Disney Princess deck. (WHOO!! Dollar store strikes again!)

Jeff finally relinquished my copy of Good Omens. THANK GOD. No pun intended. Shelly read it, and then I'm lending to to Liz once she finishes/simply stops reading Choke. I told her to read Survivor if she couldn't get through it, as that's my favorite Palahniuk work. Need to read Rant, still.

I've never actually read my copy of Good Omens, so I'm doing that now. That book makes me laugh like an idiot. I can't listen to Bohemian Rhapsody without sniggering.

So far, so good. It's really true to the manga, but.... needs more Aidou. I was weirded out by Yuuki ripping off her jacket a little bit, but I actually like her. >>; Maybe it's just by comparison to Kaname and Ichiru? I really dislike them. She has the ability to become a good female lead, but she doesn't. She's not helpless, we've seen her fight and defend herself! I don't understand why she randomly turns into a typical shoujo lead.

I found the Amatsuki anime~ Has it all come out yet? I can only find up to episode 5. ;3; I'm unsure why Toki's hair isn't blonde, but whatev'. Also, I love the Tengu whose name I forgot. Not Bonten. He has the short hair.

I found this manga called Amatsuki and I urge everyone to read it. It's hosted on onemanga~ The artwork is beautiful and the story is interesting. I was looking for VK manga icons and someone had Amatsuki ones in the same post. It looked cool, so I decided to check it out. The artwork is so pretty, but not in a super-shoujo bishie way. More like how Death Note is beautiful.

I should be studying but I'm just reading comics. *sigh* We read sample APAH essays in class today and I almost cried. This person got full credit on their essay but their grammar and spelling was so awful. Apparently even though it's an essay they only grade your information and clarity, not writing style at all. The person described the Assyrians as people who you "wouldn't want to mess with". I am crying inside. They also spelled "guardians" as "gaurdians" like five times, and all I could think of was humanoid gourds.

To do list in random order:

So I just got back from seeing Speed Racer with Elena. Despite the harsh reviews and criticism, I must say... I really enjoyed the movie.

The eyecandy (color saturation and just the CGI in general) was amazing beyond belief. While the actors weren't amazing, they were so true to the originally Speed Racer characters. (Except Spritle and Chim-chim.) Some license was taken, but it was done well, such as Racer X.

The main argument I heard against it was the convoluted story-telling. Maybe it's just that after watching Baccano! any storyline seems simple, but I really had no problem understanding it. What I didn't understand was why it was rated PG. It should've been bumped up to PG-13, IMHO.

The only scenes that bothered me were the ones with Spritle and Chim-chim as they were often just relying on potty-jokes that weren't funny. :/ Tsk tsk. Some of the racing was just a little too over-the-top for me to suspend my disbelief, but overall it was a very entertaining movie.

Most suprising of all was that it was insanely Avant-Garde! I can't wait to go to art history on monday and tell everyone~ It was so anti-capitalist. It was about making art, simply to create. The movie itself was a piece of art, visually, which only helped enforce the idea.

Speed racer has been unfairly criticized. It's suprisingly high-brow if you know where to look. I'm disappointed that no one seems to see it.
